I’ve looked and looked from designer to designer, from department stores to boutiques.  So here’s my top 12 items you need in your closet for Fall right now. Don’t be surprised that you may have some of these items in your closet. Also, don’t be afraid to vintage shop for some of these items.  A great outfit isn’t about how expensive it is…..A great outfit is how it fits on you and how its put together.

  1. Deep Burgundy Bag

Sole Society Jocinda Boxy Tote With Metal Detail

One of the Must have for this Fall.  I love the idea of not spending so much on a bag.  Because, I’d rather have $1200 inside a bag then spend $1200 and have $12 in that bag.  Such a nice rich color that screams fall and gets all of us a break from the basic black bag.

  1. Silk and Satin Blouses

Mango Satin wrap blouse

Everyone should have one of these in their closet.  You can dress it up or down.  You can wear this with black cut out jeans, combat boots and a spike necklace.  You can wear this with a pencil skirt to the office.  The versatility is endless. This is a classic piece.

  1. Tie Neck Blouse

Ann Taylor Silk Tie Neck Blouse

Classic and I just picked myself up one.  This style has been around and around.  So don’t be afraid to Vintage / Second hand shop on this one.  This blouse is also really great with dark denim for those casual days in the office.

  1. Shift Dress

Very figure friendly is the Shift Dress and they come in different styles.  The shift dress is A line and figure friendly.  Honestly, I think that I have about 5 of these in my closet.

  1. Leopard Animal Print

I love animal print and you can do this print in a dress.  Now, if this is too loud for you.  You can incorporate this print in a dress, bag, belt or even shoes.

  1. Faux Suede

Love this dress it captures 2 trends the faux suede and the fringe that’s really in this season.

  1. Military

Choies Military Look Longline Jacket With Camo

$30 $39 CHOIES.COM

This is a phenomenal price for this long line cameo jacket.  I don’t think Military will ever be out of trend.  The key here is to take one item to wear in this pattern.  So if you wear this jacket the rest of your assemble should be basic and one color.  So if you choose military pants the top should be beige, green, black or white.

  1. Pops of Yellow

The Gold Yellow tone is back in for this fall.  This is not the easiest color on skin tone.  So I would stay away from wearing it and instead incorporate it into accessories.  This pump is perfect paired up with a brown, green, navy or black dress.

  1. Banana Republic Wristlets bags and statement Clutches as seen here

Conversational Large Pouch$38.00

Love these and I think the saying is well said! This is a Fun practical accessory to have.  Although, I am a fan of the tote bag for every day at times taking something smaller like the above pictured is great for attending a party or running errands.

  1. Macy’s Ponchos

NEW! Charter Club Solid Cowl-Neck Poncho, Only at Macy’s

Macy’s currently has the largest selection of ponchos.  I love ponchos!  Perfect for the in between weather of Fall.  When it’s not hot or too cold and you don’t want to wear a bulky coat to run errands.  The poncho is also great for wear to work.

  1. Denim on Denim Look is back

Old Navy Womens Denim Jumpsuits

You can do the Denim on Denim look in various ways.  You can do a shirt with jeans or a jacket with jeans.  I love this one piece.  I would use a scarf, aviator sunglasses and some converse sneakers with this.

  1. Double Breasted Wool Coat

Express Brown Wool Blend Long Trench Coat

I love the length and the color.  This is another classic to have in your closet.
